Turkey Meatball Subs

My best friend inspired me to come up with a recipe for turkey meatballs. Turkey meatballs are actually a great option if you are looking to sneak in a healthy meal. Just as long as you pair them with a rich and hearty sauce, they are sure to be a hit!

Here's what you'll need (in order of apprearance):

1.25 lbs. ground turkey
1/3 c. shredded parmesan
3/4 c. italian bread crumbs
1 egg (beaten)
1 lb 9.5 oz spaghetti sauce (1 small jar)
1 package whole wheat hot dog buns (or french buns)
1 package sliced mozzarella (or provolone)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. While the oven is preheating, mix ground turkey, shredded parmesan, bread crumbs, and egg together in a medium bowl.

Form mixture into 1 1/2 inch diameter balls and place on greased pan. Bake for 20 minutes.

While meatballs are baking, heat spaghetti sauce in a medium pot over stovetop. When meatballs are done baking, add the meatballs to the heated spaghetti sauce.

To serve, place 2 slices of cheese inside bun and scoop 3-4 meatballs and sauce into bun.
